CUSTOM FRAMING IN BROOKLYN SINCE 1978
We have been making custom frames in Brooklyn since 1978, and have framed everything from paintings, blueprints, wedding photos, even movie props. Cobble Hill and Bed-Stuy are our two store locations, and our woodshop where we build our frames is right here in Brooklyn.
We love working with our customers to guide them through all the available options, and we specialize in custom touches such as colored sides or beveled edges, so your frames can reflect your personal style.

Our Services
Opened in 1978, Make A Frame is an independent custom framing shop located in Brooklyn - our first location is in Cobble Hill, and the second location is in Bedford-Stuyvesant. We work directly with our clients to design each unique project with preservation in mind. Only archival methods and materials are used in our work. Once the order is placed, we build each closed corner hardwood frame by hand. Finally we fit each piece on site with archival materials and processes. We provide a variety of services at both locations:
Custom Framing
We specialize in conservation framing using museum quality techniques and material to keep your artwork safe and secure for the long run.
Poster Shop
We stock a wide selection of vintage and hand-printed posters. We work directly with the likes of infamous screen-printer Mike King and others, and we like to showcase a variety of prints and posters, new and old.
Gallery Space
We’re proud to offer a rotating gallery displaying works by local artists. Send us an email if you’re interested in collaborating with us!
